Unit 1 Assessment Recycling Due Thursday 9/29 B Day, Tuesday 10/4 A Day

The students were provided an opportunity to complete a test recycle for their Unit 1 Assessment.  This opportunity is a way for students to reflect on the assessment items they got incorrect.  The students will earn half credit of what they missed, and that will be added to their original test score.  For example, if the student earned a 60/100 originally and completed the recycling correctly for all incorrect assessment items they would then have earned 20 of the 40 points that they missed back.  Therefore, their new Unit 1 Assessment score would be an 80/100 (60 + 20 = 80).
*Both written and oral instructions were provided to students in class.  This is not a mandatory assignment, however it is highly recommended as it is beneficial for student understanding and for their overall grade.

Assessment on Monday 9/19 and Tuesday 9/20

There will be an assessment on Monday 9/19 (B day) and Tuesday 9/20 (A day) on Unit 1 "The Nature of Science".  Students should study for this assessment by testing their knowledge on the information found in Unit 1 Lessons 1-3.  I have provided the students with a guide of what to study in class.  Although this guide has questions on it, these questions are not what they will see on the assessment. However, they are questions about the content that will be on the assessment.  To see assessment style questions, I recommend for the students to test their knowledge by using the "Benchmark Review" questions at the end of the unit.  These questions can be found on pages 63-66 in their textbook.
